『Heart Made in JAPAN』

In the final years of the Taishō era, the Great Kantō Earthquake struck Tokyo and the surrounding region, leaving devastating damage in its wake.
Our story of toolmaking began then—by crafting Kuikiri shears for carpenters who were working tirelessly to rebuild the city.

As the years passed, the world was drawn into war. In the postwar period, when materials were scarce, we adapted once again.
To conserve resources, we shifted from large carpentry tools to something smaller: nail clippers.
In a time of upheaval, this ingenuity allowed us to find a way forward and continue making things that mattered.

From Shōwa to Heisei, and now Reiwa, the way people live has changed dramatically.
Amid these transformations, we returned to the very origins of the blacksmith’s craft.
In 2011, we opened our Open Factory, one of the first of its kind in Japan—
not merely as a place of production, but as a space to communicate the true value of tools and craftsmanship.

While we have continued to evolve, some things have never changed.

We create tools that solve real problems—tools that are easy to use, functional, and beautiful.
Our craftsmen refine their skills every day, and our company exists to support and value those craftsmen above all else.

As we look toward the next hundred years,
we aspire to be a factory that moves people’s hearts.
We want to create tools that bring a smile every time they are picked up.
And we want to deliver them to you—with care, sincerity, and pride.

In 2026, SUWADA Blacksmith Works celebrates its 100th anniversary.
